Information for motor vehicle traders, manufacturers and importers
Motor vehicle traders are required to display fuel economy information on a fuel economy label on vehicles offered for sale, or vehicles displayed to promote the sale of another vehicle of the same or similar type, where the information is available.
When full information is not available for a vehicle, you can choose to print a partial label showing the information which is available for that vehicle. This is optional, but it shows buyers that you have made a genuine effort to label the vehicle.
In many cases, companies providing support services to motor vehicle traders have systems in place to produce labels for traders. Check with your service providers about how they can help you.

Traders must also ensure the information is included in listings on trading websites, including dealer websites and internet trading sites such as Trade Me or AutoTrader. The major sites have systems in place, but if you want to get the information to include in a listing, click here.
