Information for buyers
Every litre of fuel costs you money. It also harms the environment by releasing carbon dioxide and other gases that cause pollution and contribute to climate change.
By choosing a vehicle that uses less fuel you can reduce both your costs and your negative impact on the environment while still meeting your lifestyle needs and getting you where you need to go.
When you're looking for a vehicle you'll be thinking about its ongoing running costs as well as the up-front price.
So this is a good time to see how much you can save by comparing the fuel consumption of different vehicles. The fuel economy information and fuel economy star rating displayed on the fuel economy label will help you do that.
The label will be displayed with new and late model used cars for sale through motor vehicle traders, provided the information is available.
Fuel economy information will also be shown with vehicles listed for sale on trading websites, provided it is available.
